Avocado Chocolate Mousse Recipe

This rich and creamy chocolate mousse is made with avocado, so it’s packed with healthy unsaturated fat. At only 139 calories per serve, you can indulge without the guilt!

 Why it’s good for you

This is a healthier take on a classic dessert. It’s rich and creamy, so it still feels like you are treating yourself, with the added benefits of antioxidants. Avocado is high in unsaturated fat, so it has a naturally creamy texture as well as helping to reduce the risk of high blood cholesterol and help keep you feeling fuller for longer.

Avocado Chocolate Mousse Recipe

Makes 10 small serves
139 calories | 8 grams sugar
3 grams fibre | 21mg calcium

Ingredients

2 avocados
100g dark chocolate
¼ cup cacao
¼ cup maple syrup
¼ cup coconut milk/milk alternative
Pinch salt
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Garnish of your choice including berries, coconut, mint, grated chocolate, nuts and seeds.

Method

1. Melt chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler.
2. Cut avocados and scoop out flesh into a blender.
3. Measure out all other ingredients into the blender including the melted chocolate.
4. Blend until smooth.
5. Add your choice of garnish.
